Bob Becker Xylophone Soloist Seminar
July 11-16, 2016 The Bob Becker Xylophone Soloist Seminar is an intensive one-week study of the xylophone styles and technique of artists from the golden age of the xylophone. The seminar will include lectures, performances, and classes on technique, style, improvisation and the history of the instrument. Students will receive individual and ensemble coaching, practice time (instruments provided), and will perform with Mr. Becker on the final concert. College students, educators, and professionals are encouraged to apply. Prerequisites: Well-developed reading skills and basic music theory knowledge. Plan to submit a repertoire list of mallet pieces you have studied with your application.
Students attending the seminar are asked to prepare/memorize: 1 Ragtime style xylophone piece
