African Diasporic Arts and Education Inc. is an arts organization that supports the development and presentation of arts and education rooted in the traditions and spirit of Africa and African-centered diasporic communities of the Americas. African Diasporic Arts and Education Inc.’s goal is to increase knowledge and understanding of African and African American life and culture, to partner with like efforts to present BIPOC/ALANNA visual and performing arts, and to reinforce such efforts with scholarly pursuit additionally aimed at the uplift of the human condition.

Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens

The mission of the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens is to enrich lives through the power of inspiration found in our story, setting and art. The Polasek offers a holistic cultural experience that encompasses traditional fine arts, a journey through history, the inspirational story of our founder, a deep appreciation of nature, and a celebration of the diverse art created by talented artists from around the world. Museum founder, Albin Polasek, N.A. (1879-1965), was born and raised in the province of Moravia, in what is now the Czech Republic. In February 2016, the Polasek Museum celebrated the 50th anniversary of public access and enjoyment at the museum. Albin Polasek opened his studio and gallery to the community in 1961 (he started the non-profit foundation five years earlier), with the hope that he could share his passion for the arts and his cultural experiences at this unique Florida site on gorgeous Lake Osceola. The Albin Polasek Museum is the only institution on the National Trust’s for Historic Preservation’s Historic Artists’ Homes and Studios in Florida!

Art & History Museums - Maitland

About the A&H The Art & History Museums – Maitland is home to five museums that foster an appreciation for art and history through immersive experiences, including exhibitions, events, artist residencies and education programs. The A&H’s Maitland Art Center campus was founded as an artist colony in 1937 by visionary American artist and architect, Jules André Smith, and is the only National Historic Landmark in the four-county area of Central Florida. The Landmark status was awarded due to the Mayan Revival architecture — including 200+ murals & sculptures throughout the campus — and significance as a retreat for notable American artists. Our five museums include: Maitland Art Center, Maitland Historical Museum and Telephone Museum on our main campus, and the Waterhouse Residence Museum and Carpentry Shop Museum on our Lake Lily campus. The A&H’s educational opportunities for schools include: 1. Student visits to the main campus museums, along with activities related to what they learn at these museums. 2. Outreach visits to schools, where A&H education staff teaches printmaking history and students are guided to make their own prints. About the museums: The A&H’s Maitland Art Center galleries offer a more immersive experience than a static museum, and encourages visitors to take a closer look at the artists and the artistic process. Exhibitions change 3-4 times per year, and features works by André Smith, other notable resident artists from his time, as well as contemporary American artists examining a range of modern issues. The Telephone Museum collection includes equipment and archives representing the story of the Galloway family who started telephone service in this area, and the Winter Park Telephone Company of 1913-1979. The collection, one of the most extensive in the Southeast, includes a working switching station, military field equipment, and much more. The A&H’s Maitland Historical Museum examines the history of Maitland’s founding families, featuring archival photographs, artifacts and documents that exhibit their stories as they relate to the economic, technological and social aspects of the American experience. The Museum also examines the broader history of Central Florida along with Maitland and surrounding towns.

Asian Cultural Association of Central Florida, Inc.

For more than 20 years the Asian Cultural Association has been thrilling audiences with wondrous films, beautiful exhibits of sculpture, photography, and traditional crafts; concerts featuring the exotic sounds of Indian instruments, and teaching children of Central Florida about the fascinating culture of the subcontinent. ACA presents in-class lectures, demonstrations, and other smaller intensive programs in kindergarten through high school in Central Florida. Programs like the India Annual Arts Day, where students at Heathrow Elementary in Lake Mary, Florida are exposed to various aspects of Indian life – clothing, languages, games, arts and culture. This is done in an interactive and fun environment and in-class lecture demonstrations by ACA visiting artists. ACA also schedules workshops by master artists at local colleges and universities featuring guest artists that ACA brings to Central Florida for concerts and performances. These workshops encourage students to pursue and study these ancient art forms and to promote dialogue about Western and Eastern musical styles.

Bach Festival Society of Winter Park: FreshStARTs

FreshStARTs offers interdisciplinary educational and artistic experiences for students by sending live, curriculum-based performances into schools. Teachers can choose from a selection of programs that present an exciting and fun approach to supplement their traditional classroom curriculum. FreshStARTs is a great way to broaden horizons and help students understand and appreciate cultural diversity through the arts. NOTE: FreshStARTs programs are limited to two (2) performances within a 3 hour window

Bronze Kingdom Museum

The Arts Education Department of the Bronze Kingdom Museum’s central undertaking is to vitalize universal fine art and humanities knowledge and understanding and to strengthen appreciation for the diverse cultures of our world by expanding awareness of global customs, behaviors, and aesthetic practices, through the lens of Africa and the African diaspora. With the Bronze Kingdom Museum Collection- one of the most consequential collections of African art in the world as our point of departure, we use arts education and arts integration methodology to achieve this goal and to make vital connections with desired learning outcomes across the curriculum.

Central Florida Community Arts

Central Florida Community Arts (CFCArts) is an Orlando-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization; our mission is to serve and build community through the arts. In addition to our performance-based program areas (Community Choir, Symphony Orchestra, Children & Youth Arts Programs, and Theatre), we also have a School of Arts & Health. We provide Arts & Wellness programs, which marry some form of cognitive or physical disability with accessible arts programs; Arts in Action, designed for healthily aging artists over the age of 55; Paid private and group classes and workshops through our Academy, and Arts Access Programs which are consist of programming for the community at low or no cost (Thanks to our donors, sponsors, and grantors!) As part of our goal to make the arts accessible and affordable for all, each of these program areas is available to anyone who wishes to participate, regardless of performance experience, financial wellbeing, or skill level, with full scholarships available for low-to-moderate income individuals with such a need. We also give back to the community by lending our artistic talents to other charities and non-profit organizations; to date, we have partnered with more than 120 such organizations.

Central Florida Vocal Arts

Central Florida Vocal Arts is a non-profit music advocacy organization, dedicated to providing the highest quality training to young artists, while also providing performance opportunities to currently emerging artists of all ages. We are creating a continuing life cycle for the vocal arts in Central Florida through a three step model. The first step, Education and Training introduces young artists to the arts. Through our educational initiatives, we develop students’ talent and passion. Our Mainstage Productions provide a transition period for students, ages 8-18, to emerge on the professional stage alongside of local, professional talent. Our life cycle culminates with Opera del Sol, which provides the opportunity to cultivate talent in innovative, community-driven productions. Whether the final goal is performing locally or dreaming of their big break, through Education, Mentorship, and Performance, Central Florida Vocal Arts is training the young artists of today to re-imagine the future of vocal arts.

Crealdé School of Art

Crealdé School of Art Crealdé School of Art is a community-based nonprofit art organization established in 1975, featuring an affordable, sequential curriculum of over 125 studio courses and workshops in painting & drawing, digital & film photography, ceramics, sculpture, fiber arts, jewelry and glass for adults and children, with hands-on experience emphasized. Classes and workshops are taught by a faculty of more than 45 professional artists. Also, Crealdé offers an award-winning scholarship and outreach program to special populations from the diverse Central Florida community. Crealdé’s two galleries offer changing multidisciplinary visual art exhibitions by artists from Florida, the nation and the world. The Contemporary Sculpture Garden showcases over 60 outdoor pieces of art. Crealdé’s main campus and galleries are located off Aloma Avenue at 600 St. Andrews Blvd., Winter Park, FL, 32792. Hannibal Square Heritage Center Crealdé’s Hannibal Square Heritage Center serves as a second campus as well as representing a unique partnership with the City of Winter Park to pay tribute to the past, present and future contributions of Winter Park’s African-American community through a permanent collection of historic photographs and oral histories. Established by Crealdé in 2007, the center also features visual art exhibitions, public art installations and educational programs that explore Southern folklore and cultural preservation. The Heritage Center is located in downtown Winter Park: 642 W. New England Ave., Winter Park, FL, 32789. Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts

Our School Series helps energize the classroom by connecting the arts to what Pre-K-12 graders are already learning in school. Shows produced by nationally and internationally touring youth theater companies bring common-core concepts, characters from history and literature to life in one-hour, school day matinees. Selected shows provide a perfect opportunity to introduce students to cultural music, dance, and theater artists from around the world.

Flamenco del Sol

Academia Flamenco del Sol was founded overseas in 1993 and became established in Central Florida in 1999 when Director Tammy Weber de Millar, a graduate of Lake Mary High School and University of Central Florida moved back to the U.S. from South America. Flamenco del Sol is known for a pure focus on flamenco arts with all bi-lingual classes. The students are taught theory as well as flamenco dance and theatrical arts. The professional company has captivated audiences nightly at Central Florida theme parks for two decades and many other fine venues throughout the U.S. and Caribbean. The academy and professional companies have delighted audiences and critics alike with a flurry of productions including critically lauded performances at the Orlando Fringe Festival. Flamenco del Sol productions include “Romeo y Julieta” featuring the direction, choreography and dance of Madrid-based Carlos Rodriguez Gonzalez, artistic director of Spain’s Got Talent, “Carmen”–which played for a full two years in numerous theaters, “Corazon Flamenco” featuring international flamenco star, Angel Rojas, “El Amor Brujo”, “Camino Flamenco”, award-winning “Misa Flamenca”, as well as “Pasion Flamenca”. The academy sponsors master classes and workshops several times each year with Spain’s most elite flamenco dancers right here at the Seminole County location. Flamenco del Sol’s roots in education go even deeper. Director Tammy Weber de Millar discovered Flamenco as her life path during a UCF study abroad trip in 1984. She went on to pursue a Master of Science in Spanish Education and inaugurated Academia Flamenco del Sol first in South America in 1993, then in the U.S. in 1999. She has dedicated her career to teaching Flamenco and well as Spanish language Pre-K through college level. Her professional career also includes over fifteen years as a publisher, conceptualizing and developing World Language materials for K-16 markets along with creating and delivering professional development programming for World Language teachers and professors.

Holocaust Center

Holocaust education is not simply about studying the past. It is about shaping a brighter future. Long before the Final Solution, the Nazis and their collaborators used language to insult, demean, isolate and dehumanize their victims. The Holocaust Center inspires visitors to realize that they have the ability to make a difference for good; to be a positive influence in the lives of others, and while doing so, to improve and enrich their community. Established in 1982, The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida is one of the nation’s oldest institutions of its kind. Its mission is dedicated to combating anti-Semitism, racism and prejudice with the ultimate goal of developing a moral and just community through its extensive outreach of educational and cultural programs. Using the lessons of the Holocaust as a tool, the Center teaches the principles of good citizenship to thousands of people of all ages, religions and backgrounds each year. The Center, located in Maitland, houses permanent and temporary exhibit space, archives, and a research library. It is a nonprofit organization supported by tax-exempt donations, and is open to the public free of charge. Each year the Center offers a variety of programs to sensitize the public to issues of tolerance, diversity and respect for cultural differences. Its leadership and supporters firmly believe that preserving the past helps us protect the future, and that a moral and just community grows from understanding the watershed events of human history. Using films permanent and travelling exhibits, teacher training and community programs, the Center emphasized the role of the individual in creating a community where every person can feel safe and welcome.

Howey Mansion Music Series

Breathing new life into musical treasures… The Howey Mansion Music Series provides people of all cultures and backgrounds the opportunity to enjoy jazz and classical music through innovative and engaging presentations by highly skilled artists set in the magnificently restored historic 1920’s Howey Mansion. All of our concerts include an educational component so that audiences of all ages can gain an appreciation for the rich classical and jazz music heritage and ensure that these traditions will continue for generations to come.

MicheLee Puppets

MicheLee Puppets…Live and Online (www.micheleepuppets.org) MicheLee Puppets empowers lives through the art of puppetry. As Florida’s only educational puppetry organization, MicheLee Puppets has played a major role in the Central Florida community as a creator of art that produces social change. Since 1985, we have developed more than 80 original, issue-based theatrical and video/film productions reaching more than 2.3 million PreK-12th grade students, their teachers and families. Our productions have made a profound impact in the lives of young people regarding critical topics like divorce, child abuse, bully prevention, healthy lifestyles, literacy and more. Through the powerful art of puppetry, we promote respect, responsibility and positive choices among children and youth locally, regionally and nationally.

Opera Orlando

Opera Orlando produces entertaining and thought-provoking theatrical works of the highest artistic quality. The company creatively fuses various genres and mediums to engender a community excited about the arts. Formerly known as Florida Opera Theatre which was founded in 2009, Opera Orlando has grown to become the city’s premier opera company, offering a wide range of events, productions, and educational opportunities throughout the year.

Orange County Regional History Center, The

Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, the History Center offers four floors of dynamic permanent exhibits exploring 12,000 years of Central Florida history. The smart, surprising fun continues with limited-run and nationally-run traveling exhibitions scheduled throughout the year.

Orlando Ballet

Orlando Ballet is a fully residential professional ballet company and dance school. The Ballet employs a full-time company of national and international dancers performing an annual season of full-length classical ballets and repertoire programs.

Orlando Museum of Art

Founded in 1924, the OMA is a 501(c)(3) educational institution whose mission reflects the continued growth of Florida, ardent community support for the arts, and the OMA’s role as a leading cultural institution in the region. OMA celebrated its 88th anniversary in 2012. Since its inception, the OMA’s purpose has been to enrich the cultural life of Florida by providing excellence in the visual arts. To meet this objective, the OMA has dedicated itself to: collecting, preserving and interpreting notable works of art; presenting exhibitions of local, regional, national and international significance; developing first-rate educational programs; and presenting creative and inclusive programs to reach every segment of a diverse community.

Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra

Education Programming at Orlando REP Orlando REP Youth Academy provides outstanding classes, camps, workshops, and performance opportunities for young people. The Youth Academy’s programming consists of a variety of performance and technical classes during the school year and summer.
